Often times the HouseBoy or HouseMan is assigned to be the BarKeep at your man's holiday gathering at his home. Getting this assignment is the coolest place to be at any party. All the guests come to you, and if you've prepped your station well, you'll be the hit of the party. Maybe you can put out a large tip jar. Recollect to have your spray bottle of peppermint to wipe up spills, the peppermint always gives anyone who smells it a great big "lift" and a smile. This first cocktail is a twist on the White Russian. Prep the vodka in the freezer the night before. Prep the Kaluah in the fridge the night before...Keep the Egg Nog chilled in the fridge as well. It is always best to use the largest Ice cubes in the home, and avoid shaved or crushed ice. Crushed Ice in a cocktail tends to melt quickly and water down the cocktail. Freeze the cocktail shakers the night before, and the martini glasses the night before if you plan to serve the cocktail up. Ingredients: 1 part vodka 1 part kaluah Replace the 1/2 and 1/2 with Egg Nog. Two ways of serving....over the rocks: Build the cocktail by adding the cubes into a high ball, then the vodka, then the kaluah, and top with the Egg Nog...garnish with a dash of nutmeg....especially if you have the whole nutmeg nuts, and you can shave the nut into the glass with a microplaner. Don't stir it...add a stir straw and let the guest see the layers of the cocktail, and let him stir it up. The second way is to serve the cocktail up. Mix all the ingredients together into your frozen cocktail shaker and bruise the holy hell out of it, pour the concoction into the frozen martini glass and shave your nutmeg nut onto the surface of the drink. Serving this cocktail up is my preference. The French Slap This is a cordial served in a snifter. Ingredients: Equal parts each of Courvoisier Cognac and Grand Manier. The Cognac cuts the sweetness of the Grand Manier for a really nice after dinner cordial. You could "heat" up the cocktail, and perhaps your Man has a technique for that, there are many....Only at the last resort is to use the microwave under 30 seconds. Tepid is also very acceptable. After two of these you will loose a consonant, maybe your "J's" then my name would become..... "aKMan" instead of JaKMan. Good Luck and have a fun time this season.
