  1. I have chosen two sites that specialize in matching young and old (inter-generational) couples and have been searching for "the one" for several years. During that time, I have had replies from fakes, gold-diggers, phonies, scammers, game players, etc. but no real, honest, polite, sincere young men who are truthful about what they looking for on these sites. Have any of you gentlemen heard of anyone who has had success in finding the kind of person (twink, gent, Daddy, houseboy, etc.) that he was looking for? Where are the success stories that usually accompany these sites? I am a humble man who was (as I am sure that most of the "employers" on these sites) bullied, beaten, raped, discriminated against and, treated badly in every conceivable way while fighting for not only our own lives but the lives and rights of the LGBTQ community to follow us. We have fought against the bigotry and homophobia that those who follow should be able to have a more normal and productive life than we had. For my part, I became aware of the hate that was aimed against us when, 50 years ago yesterday, I was attacked by the very people who were supposed to protect us. The Place was New York City. The place was a seedy little bar called the Stonewall Inn. I was a 15 year old runaway looking for a peaceful place where boys like myself could find others like me. I still have nightmares about that night. I had to be carried (out cold and missing two teeth )away from the violence after being the recipient of a night stick to my face. I woke up in a hotel room where I was being taken care on by the drag princess who saved me. She put me on a bus back to my parents not knowing that I would have preferred to get back into the fight. You can take the boy out of the fight but you can't take the fight out of the re-headed Irish boy. I have been an activist since. I like to think that I am at least partially responsible for the rights to same-sex marriage. I am on these sites to find that young man who, like myself, is looking for the love and support that I never found at home. (I am sure that most of the older guys on here are doing the same.) It sounds like a simple thing but becomes so complicated when the liars, thieves and game-players get into the mix. So, I ask again: where are the success stories? Do any of you men (young or old) havew any to share? If not about yourself, about a friend or acquaintance? I would love to hear about it.
